The offline field app

Where the data is born. An agent walks each member's plot with a low-cost phone — no internet needed — and can map the land in two ways depending on the terrain. Kreyòl / French, icon-driven.

Offline-first. Everything is captured and encrypted on the device, then uploaded when signal returns. This is TerraProva's moat on the supply side — most tools assume a connected farmer, which doesn't exist here.
Two ways to capture a plot

Walk the whole boundary, or stand in the middle

Method A · most accurate

Walk the perimeter

The agent walks the full edge of the plot. The app drops a GPS point every few steps and builds the exact polygon. Best accuracy → high data-quality score → lowest risk.

Method B · fast, for hard terrain

Stand in the centre & tap

When the plot can't be fully walked (dense cover, slopes, time), the agent stands roughly in the middle and taps once. The app draws a circle around that point sized to the plot, and marks it as an estimate (medium confidence) — which the risk model accounts for honestly.

B Circle estimate

Why the circle is capped & marked "medium". A far-away edge can't be trusted from one point, so the app caps the radius at the maximum reliable distance for the GPS fix and tags the plot as an estimate. That lower confidence flows straight into the risk model's data-quality factor — the buyer always knows whether a boundary was walked or estimated. Nothing is dressed up.

Take geo-tagged photos looking N / E / S / W from the tapped point. Each carries its GPS, compass direction & time — and is shared with the buyer.
